Prototype of new "Manhattan" model ships for New York City
I recently met with a customer at Hot Stix Golf in Scottsdale and was lucky enough to watch him go thru their in-depth putter fitting process. He had been demo'ing a pair of my handmades and before purchasing a putter, we both felt he needed to get the exact numbers that would benefit him the very most. Though he does not get to play as often as he would like, he manages to keep a single-digit handicap and has a swing that many would be jealous of. Following his fitting, using my new 2014 Rattler, he made the choice to...

Doing a very limited number of a classic design in carbon steel.
I was fortunate enough to have worked with a company in the past that had some heads milled out of a Texas facility in the classic style that almost everyone knows about. When I inquired about using some of them for MannKrafted projects, the president of that company was very gracious. He gave me his blessing to create some custom looks on a limited number of heads. This is my opportunity to give the guys who are supporters of what I do, a chance to have a hand in creating exactly what they want, in the style of a putter...

New Model that will be up, soon. "ONE-14", blend of a few favorites.
I milled the prototype for this one, back in October and it sat with a 303 SS neck for a while, until the true look of what it was supposed to be showed itself. The head was screaming for a double-bend shaft, slipped over an aluminum, threaded-in stub and made to find a home in my bag. The brass head is absolutely gorgeous and it feels very soft. The milling does not kill the feel, at all and gives great feedback. I played my first round of 2014 with this one and the factor that grabbed me was that I...

Custom Putter from MannKrafted- The Process [PICS]
Custom putters have come a long way in the past 20 years. In the past, the options for custom putters were limited, and in many cases, very expensive. There are several putter manufacturers who are in the custom putter market now. For many people, ordering a custom putter can be intimidating or overwhelming. It is different than going to a golf shop and picking up a putter to play it for a couple of months and then move on to another model. When you invest in a custom putter, you want to be sure it will be in your bag...

MannKrafted gamed in Schwab Cup
We had an exciting week last week. For the first time a MannKrafted putter was gamed by a Champions Tour player at the Schwab Cup. David Frost heard about MannKrafted a couple months ago and was eager to test out a new putter. David Frost has consistently been at the top of putting averages since he joined the PGA tour years ago. His putting success has continued on the Champions Tour where he is always at or near the top for putting average. Needless to say we were excited to have one of the best putters in the world interested...

Fastest Way to Improve Your Putting
When you are working on improving your putting there are so many factors that come into play. You could spend the entire next year watching videos of PGA pros showing different putting drills. You could spend an hour on the putting green every morning and afternoon. You could go to a putting clinic at your local course. The bottom line is every method I have heard of to become a better putter often involves a huge time commitment. It is by far the hardest part of the game and one where you don't find too many short cuts. Here...

Tad Moore's Hoffman Blade... MannKrafted Style
Here is a short story about a very unique and rare putter. The Hoffman Blade. The life of this putter goes all the way back to over 20 years ago, when it started out as a quality forging from one of the best forging houses in American golf, the Hoffman Foundry. The Hoffman Foundry did a lot of work for major OEM Golf companies such as Titleist, Maxfli and others. During a 1991 inspection visit to check on some irons that were being made, Tad Moore was presented the opportunity to purchase some of the heel-shafted blade. Fast forward...

MannKrafted Hand Milled "Mini" Putter
I have noticed a lot of my clients lately share the desire to roll a little smaller head. Noticing this new trend for "mini" putters, I have been on the leading edge making handmades in several different sizes for every need or preference. This one is the one that really stands out in my mind when I think of "Cool Putters I have made". It is milled from 1018 Cold Rolled Carbon Steel and the entire putter is either hand milled on a manual mill or hand spun on a manual lathe. I have one of the premier welders in the...

Custom Putter MannKrafted Style... C'est la Vie
Every once and awhile you get the opportunity to do something way outside the box. This putter was built for a return customer. He loves his Esperanza, but like any putter junkie, he wanted to add something new to his arsenal. The 2012 C'est la Vie Prototype is very unique in that it has a 1018 Carbon Steel face and a back flange of 6061 Aluminum. Here are a couple of pics of how the putter started: The shaping took a couple of close efforts before they were able to nail down the exact look they wanted. The flow...
